WhatsApp Said to Be Bringing

WhatsApp is planning to introduce the Swipe to Reply feature to its Android app in coming future as per the recent media reports. The messaging app has been launching and testing new features with high frequency for the entire F.Y. 2018. Its iPhone app already has this feature. The reportedly new feature for Android Devices will let WhatsApp users quickly reply to a message using the swipe right gesture. Essentially it means that users no longer need to tap and hold the message to get the Reply button. There are reports that company is also said to be working on the Dark Mode feature.

As per WABetaInfo report, the messaging app has more recently submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Programme, bringing the beta version up to 2.18.282. As per the report claims, the feature is not available for public use due to “development reasons” and there are several pending updates to be introduced in the app before it is made officially available to all WhatsApp Android users. A word of hope for the users, that the new WhatsApp feature may be available in any one of the next few updates.

With the use of this Swipe to Reply feature, Android devices with WhatsApp, will be able to swipe a message that you want to reply to, towards the right side. After which the WhatsApp will automatically load the message in the reply context.

Moving ahead towards Dark Mode, WhatsApp is finally getting serious about it. As per a recent WABetaInfo tweet, it has began its development efforts for this feature for both iOS and Android platforms. However, no such deadline for the roll-out of much awaited Dark Mode feature has been mentioned.

The reportedly much desired feature till date, will help reduce strain on user’s eyes while using WhatsApp at night or in low-light conditions. It will also save battery for phones with OLED display.
