Apple Event 2021: Apple Unveils Range Of Its New Products; Take A Look At New iPhones, iPads And New Watch 7

In a much-awaited worldwide event, Apple launched new products at its California streaming virtual event late on Tuesday. This includes the new entry-level iPad, iPad mini, Apple Watch Series 7 along with the iPhone 13 series. Apple has made its new iPhone more advanced than the previous one. The sale of the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 in India will start from September 24.  At the same time, the sale of the iPhone 13 Pro will start from October 30 and the sale of the iPhone 13 Pro Max will start from November 13. Now let’s have a deeper look at these newly launched products.

iPhone 13 Series

Apple has launched 4 models of the iPhone 13 series. These include the iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 are placed in one category.

Specifications:

iPhone 13 and 13 mini

  • The iPhone 13 Mini has a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and a density is 476ppi.  At the same time, the iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 2532×1170 pixels whose density is 476ppi. Both the models have been given a round-shaped design.This display supports HDR, True Tone, Wide Color (P3), Haptic Touch. The maximum brightness in these phones is 800 nits.
  • The device comes with Fingerprint resistance oleophobic coating. These iPhones come with an IP68 rating. This means these models will work for 30 minutes in 6 meters deep water. Both the phones have an aluminium design. Both these models will be available in Product Red, Starlight, Midnight, Blue and Pink colours. For protection, ceramic shields have been used on their display and glass on the back panel.
  • Both the smartphones come in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage variants.

  • The new phones are powered by the latest A15 Bionic chip. Along with this, it has 6 core CPU and 4 core GPU.
  • Talking about the weight of the iPhone 13 mini is 141 grams and the weight of the iPhone 13 is 174 grams. 
  • Now, have a look at their camera setup. Both the models have a dual rear camera of 12 megapixels.  One lens supports the wide and the second supports the ultra-wide-angle. The wide lens has an aperture /1.6 and the ultra-wide lens has an aperture /2.4. It covers a 120-degree area. Both supports 2x optical and 5x digital zoom. For selfies, a 12-megapixel lens is given.
  • For improved photography, both devices get portrait mode, bokeh effect and depth control. It has been given shift optical image stabilization. It can take panorama shots equivalent to 63 megapixels. It has modes like Night Mode, Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 4, Live Photos. It has a cinematic mode for videography. With this, you will be able to record in 1080p 30fps. At the same time, HDR video recording, 4K Dolby Vision recording will also be able to do. The user will also be able to shoot slow-motion videos with full HD resolution.
  • Now let’s have a look at its battery, both models will get a lithium-ion battery, which supports 15W MagSafe wireless charging and 7.5W Qi wireless charging. Apple claims that the 20W adapter will charge up to 50% in 30 minutes. The iPhone 13 Mini will get 17 hours of video playback, 13 hours of streaming video playback, 55 hours of audio playback.  Similarly, iPhone 13 will get 19 hours of video playback, 15 hours of streaming video playback, 75 hours of audio playback.

  • The iPhone 13 Pro has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with Promotion with a resolution of 2532×1170 pixels and 460ppi density. At the same time, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a massive 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 2778×1284 pixels and 458ppi pixel density.
  • This display comes with ProMotion technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both the displays support HDR, True Tone, Wide Color (P3), Haptic Touch. The maximum brightness of these devices is set to 1,200 nits.
  • The screen comes with a fingerprint resistance oleophobic coating.  Both the phones have a stainless steel design. Both these models will be available in Graphite, Gold, Silver and Sierra Blue colours. Ceramic shields have been used on their display and glass on the back panel. These iPhones come with an IP68 rating. That is, these models will work for 30 minutes in 6 meters deep water.

  • Both the smartphones offer 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options.
  • These phones are also powered bythe latest A15 Bionic chip. Along with this, it has 6 core CPU and 4 core GPU. 
  • Talking about the camera, both the models have a 12-megapixel triple rear camera set up. Among three lenses, the first supports telephoto, the second supports wide-angle and the third supports ultra-wide-angle.The aperture of the telephoto is /2.8, the aperture of the wide lens is /1.5 and the aperture of the ultra-wide lens is /1.8. It covers a 120-degree area. Both the devices support 2x optical and 15x digital zoom. For selfies again a 12-megapixel lens is given in front.
  • Like smaller models,these too get portrait mode, bokeh effect and depth control. It has been given shift optical image stabilization. It can take panorama shots equivalent to 63 megapixels. It has modes like Night Mode, Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 4, Live Photos.  For the first time in Night Mode, all three cameras will be able to use simultaneously.
  • These phones offer a cinematic mode for videography. With this, you will be able to record in Full HD (1080p) at 30 frames per second. At the same time, HDR video recording, 4K Dolby Vision recording will also be able to do. The user will also be able to shoot slow-motion videos with full HD resolution.
  • Talking about the battery, both models will get a lithium-ion battery, which supports 15W MagSafe wireless charging and 7.5W Qi wireless charging.  According to the company’s claim, this 20W adapter will charge up to 50% in 30 minutes. iPhone 13 Pro will get 122 hours of video playback, 20 hours of streaming video playback, 75 hours of audio playback. Similarly, the iPhone 13 Pro Max will get 28 hours of video playback, 25 hours of streaming video playback, and 95 hours of audio playback.

What’s new in the iPads?

Apple has also launched its two new iPads. This includes an entry-level and another mini model.

iPad

  • The new iPad will get a 10.2-inch display. It will get the Touch ID Home button just like the old iPad.
  • It also supports Apple Smart Keyboard and Logitech Rugged Keyboard Trackpad combo.
  • Tab also has the first-generation Apple Pencil support.
  • The 64GB storage variant will cost you Rs 46,900 and the 256GB variant costs you Rs 60,900.

iPad mini

  • The iPad mini has a Touch ID on the top button and sports an 8.3-inch all-screen display with slim and uniform bezels.
  • The iPad mini sports a 12MP rear camera with True Tone flash. With this, 4K video recording will also be able to do. On the front, there is a 12.2MP ultra-wide camera.
  • The device also has stereo audio support.
  • For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, USB-C and 5G connectivity.
  • The 64GB variant costs Rs 30,900 whereas the 256GB variant costs Rs 44,900.

Apple watch series 7

The design of the new series is similar to the previous series 6. The watch shows thin 1.7mm bezels around the display. It will get 70% more brightness in Always On Display mode. However,the new watch get a redesigned big button. In an upgrade, the watch will show 50% more text on the screen than in Series 6. Moreover, a full keyboard will be available for typing. The watch has been rated IP6X waterproof. That is, you will be able to swim while wearing it.

Talking about other new features, new watch faces have been added to Series 7. It will track sleep for 8 hours with just 8 minutes of charging. It has USB-C type fast charging cable support.  This will charge the watch 30% faster. The watch will get a total battery life of 18 hours.The Watch 7 series will get better support for outdoor cycling. The fall support feature on the watch will contact the emergency service in case of an accident on the bike or during a trip. You will be able to share your workouts with friends through the Fitness Plus app.

The dial comes in three finishes – aluminium, stainless steel, and titanium. The aluminium variants of this watch will be able in 5 colour options i.e, Black, Gold, Blue, Red and Dark Green. The Series 7 will start from $399 approximately Rs 29,379.
